The Master in International Management offers you a unique chance to customize your master's experience by deepening your knowledge of particular areas through a variety of options besides the option to participate on the Beyond Border Experience term. There are ways of personalizing it: you may participate in the IE Venture Lab to channel your entrepreneurial energy, join the international-week, where you´ll visit and talk to directors of leading international companies or choose other options depending on the program chosen.

Language Options

You may personalize your Master in International Management experience through the language options presented by the program. You may choose to study the program 100% in English, 100% in Spanish or Bilingual.

It will be a requirement that students be fluent in two languages upon completion of the program, allowing them to work with either in the labor market.IE provides both English and Spanish classes to all those who require them.

International Residential Periods (optional)

Enjoy studying an optional international residential week, which will permit you to gain special know-how en determined destination´s aspects (Ex.Milan: Luxury Management, Shanghai: Retailing, Silicon Valley: Innovation and Digital Business)and where students have the chance to observe, compare and build on best practices on a global scale. Students will visit leading international companies and will have the opportunity to meet experts through seminars and conferences.These periods have an additional cost and may vary according to students´ demand and corporate sponsor decision.

Venture Lab (optional)

The IE Venture Lab channels your entrepreneurial energies into the development of an independent, corporate, family, or social venture.

Designed by the IE Entrepreneurship Department, Venture Lab gives you the unique opportunity to work with your colleagues and classmates in designing, developing and launching your own business plan. You can choose from among four different Venture Lab tracks. Most are accompanied by a corresponding elective and most Venture Lab and takes place after the third term. Most business plans are evaluated in the fall by a board of investors who meet to hear student pitches and determine those they wish to invest in. This presentation constitutes the final exam.

Beyond Borders Experience (optional)

After the three mandatory periods of courses, in the fourth period, you will be offered the opportunity to participate on the optional Beyond Borders Experience (BBE), opening up a world of personalization options which compliment your studies at IE, furthering your academic knowledge whilst also offering the experience so essential to putting your knowledge into practice. You will be able to choose from a host of personalization options: an international exchange period at one of the many top institutions around the world with which we are partners, giving you the opportunity to participate in top quality classes; research or consultancy project that will enhance your learning experience emphatically and broadened you view of the marketplace; or a dual-specialization option allowing you to become an expert in your area of choice. The Beyond Borders Experience broadens your expertise in a global atmosphere that drives the learning experience further than you can imagine.

International Exchange Program

Participants may opt to study abroad at one of our partner institutions during the last part of the master program. This extra-international learning experience adds not only range and depth to the student experience but also wider networking opportunities after graduation.

Research or Consultancy Projects

Research projects may involve writing a case study with a professor or undertaking a project for an external company. Depending on the level of availability of ongoing research projects at IE, students may opt to participate as an assistant researcher in one of these investigations being held.

Dual-Specialization

Combine specific knowledge and take control of your professional exits. Students will have the opportunity to obtain further knowledge according to their personal and professional interests while permitting them to add extra value to their CV.

Academic and Social Network Clubs

IE Business School Clubs compliment the academic experience by allowing you to participate in extracurricular events related to specialized fields. The clubs organize various activities including networking events and symposiums, as well as social events for students with a shared interest. Organized by the students, the Clubs offer limitless scope and are only defined by the enthusiasm and commitment of the members.

On-Campus Presentations, Speakers and Events

IE Business School is also a hub of social, business, and cultural debate playing host to a number of respected speakers, many of whom alumni, from various sectors of society who offer their views on globally relevant issues. From politicians, entrepreneurs, and business leaders, as well as representatives from the non-profit sector, all areas of society are represented. You will be welcome to participate in many of these events.
