International Business

Objectives

The specialization in International Business is designed to prepare future global and multicultural professionals to meet the challenges of a business environment that has become increasingly international in any given functional area of the company. It has a special emphasis on project management that will allow the student to gain the tools and skills to successfully complete projects within budget, limited resources, and tough deadlines for unique objectives that can be easily affected by external factors. More specifically, there are three areas covered during this period:

1. Identifying and recognizing top trends: participants become familiar with all kinds of new consumers, society and business trends that will provide a broad picture of a global reality full of new opportunities. Looking at the world as a global citizen and learning how to enjoy this new reality will provide students with a competitive advantage and prepare them for a new business world.

2. Understanding and participating in business globalization: students are exposed to the increasing complexity of businesses based on technology and geopolitical disappearance of frontiers. Applying business fundamentals to cross border opportunities and global business models will permit a much richer and wider management perspective. International vision will be present both in terms of strategic assessment and functional understanding.

3. Developing capacities and competencies: the program provides competitive advantage for a fast integration of international realities into business practices. Understanding multiple cultures, developing leadership skills for a wider business environment, and understanding the importance of networking and partnering in a business world that frequently operates with remote business processes. All these will develop a new kind of professional, who is far more integrated and capable of succeeding in an open world.

Sales & Marketing

The Sales & Marketing specialization of the Master in International Management is conducted in collaboration with Publiespaña, one of Spain's top advertising agencies and media representative for the Telecinco group. This track also enjoys the support of a number of multinational companies from diverse sectors, allowing students to develop a network of professional contacts from a global business community.

Digital Business

The Digital Business specialization is a unique option to focus on the design of marketing strategies and company innovation in the era of the digital convergence of IT, Media and Telecom industries. The program primes participants with a proficiency in management, personal skills and a network of contacts with professionals and enterprises in the sector, widening their professional horizons and grooming them for success.

This period includes an optional residential period in Silicon Valley (San Francisco) where students have the chance to gain hands on experience in leading companies in the sector. Some examples in the past include visits to Google, Electronics Arts, LinkedIn, Sun Microsystems, Salesforce.com, Second Life, many start-ups and specialized Venture Capitalist.

  • Skills required to manage any company in the different scenarios of the digital economy
  • Gain a deep and broad understanding of the changes brought to the market by new social and technological trends: from web 2.0 to social networking, from twitter to mobile games
